Village by Julie Safirstein wins the Special Jury Prize NEW HORIZONS – BolognaRagazzi Awards 2026, awarded as part of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF).

Innovative and interactive, this small format picturebook is a sculpture and a device to play with. It is cleverly bound and allows the reader to construct, play, think and develop several townscapes. As the book is folded it creates different combinations, the abstract shapes make houses, churches, and passages appear. It gives the opportunity to interact with architecture in a fun way, for all languages, from toddlers to adults.
